As you know, SanRoo support the Some-Antics Open Mic nights in Leicester.  This event runs every first Friday of the month, currently at Beam Gaming on Silver Street, Leicester.  If you’re around  this December here is what’s happenning at our next event.

Join us for a very special Christmas show featuring the one and only Mark Grist! We will also have Open Mic and a Poetry Slam, not forgetting the incredible Robin O’Brien aka Ninja Bob spinning the tunes,

Open mic slots are three mins each.

Slam Etiquette:

• Three minutes per poet
• Points deducted for going over time
• Two rounds of slam
• Original material only
• Audience judged
• Just for fun or rhyme to the death, either way bring a smile!

*Every poet who enters the Slam take their place on our leader board, showing their best Slam score. The highest scorers will be invited to compete for the title of Some-Antics Slam Champion 2019 at the end of the year.

Our most recent book launch took place on Friday 18th October 2019 at Westcotes Library in Leicester.

The launch celebrated the publication of Danny Dolphin & The Nation-State. This the latest book in the series in the Creatures Creatives Collective Series, the brainchild of author Bobba Cass.

Children and adults alike shared in the reading of the story and listening to poems written specifically for the occasion.

The Everybody’s Reading Festival takes place again this year in the city of Leicester and there are a variety of events and activities for you to get involved with, for the whole family.

SanRoo will be partnering to run The Leicester Women’s Poetry Festival on Sunday 7th October 2018.  Follow this link for our information on this great event.

Some-Antics Spoken Word and SanRoo Publishing are proud to announce our collaboration.

We made the announcement at this months Some-Antics open mic event at the Brew Dog in Leicester – Friday 4th May 2018.

This brings together creating live open events and publishing in an offer that will support the creativity of poets in Leicester and further afield.

We’re now set to form a ‘Collective’ of poets and artists to formulate the landscape of our collaborative growth.  We’ve arranged an open meeting to discuss this, identify what our group wants to work on, set priorities, ways forward, action points and outcomes.

There will be the opportunity to ask questions, share your thoughts and ideas.  If you’re a poet, a writer or an artist you are invited to join us on:
